What a DPF Machine Actually Returns

Two ways to run the numbers. If you are a workshop, work out what the service earns. If you run a fleet, work out what stops going out of the door. Change any figure — the answer updates as you type.

Nothing is stored on this page. The button just opens WhatsApp with your figures typed out, so you do not have to repeat them.

These are planning estimates based on the figures you entered — not a guarantee of income or savings. Actual results depend on job volume, local pricing, demand and your real running cost per filter. Prices shown exclude GST.

No hidden assumptions

Exactly how this is calculated

Most equipment calculators show you revenue and quietly call it profit. This one deducts your running cost first, because that is the number that decides whether a machine is worth buying.

Every figure above is yours to change. If our defaults do not match your city, your pricing or your volumes, overwrite them — the honest answer is the one built from your own numbers.

Workshop
Margin per job = what you charge − what it costs you to clean
Workshop
Payback months = machine price ÷ monthly margin
Fleet
Annual saving = (current cost per clean − in-house cost) × filters per year
Fleet
Payback months = machine price ÷ monthly saving
Excluded
GST, freight, site preparation and workshop overheads
Our own planning estimate for a typical workshop is a 6–10 month payback. If your inputs produce something dramatically faster, check your running cost figure before you rely on it.
The alternative

Sending filters out vs cleaning them yourself

For a fleet, the machine is not a new expense. It replaces one you are already paying — usually at someone else's margin.

Cleaning in-house Sending filters out Replacing filters
Cost per filter Your running cost only Market rate, every time ₹60,000–₹1,50,000
Vehicle downtime On your own schedule Whenever they can fit you in Parts lead time
Quality control You see every filter You see the invoice New part
Documentation Your own job cards Whatever they provide Invoice only
Spare capacity Clean for other workshops too None None
Cost direction Falls as volume rises Fixed per filter, forever Recurs on every failure
A fleet cleaning its own filters usually ends up cleaning for neighbouring workshops as well — spare machine capacity turns a cost centre into a revenue line.

Four Factors That Shape Your DPF Cleaning Business

Selecting the appropriate DPF cleaning products and being aware of what your business needs can assist you in planning your investment, operating expenses, and growth opportunities.

Cleaning Volume

The amount of filters you anticipate cleaning will have a direct impact on machine utilisation and potential revenue. Determine demand and customer needs in your area and then schedule your capacity.

Running Cost Per Filter

DPF cleaning solvent is an important operating consideration. Figure out solvent usage and other applicable expenses to determine the cost of every cleaning job.

Your Service Price

When determining your cleaning prices, you need to consider the demand in the local market, the filters needed and the cost of operation. An effective pricing plan can assist you to stay competitive and meet the business expenses.

Repeat & Fleet Business

DPF cleaning may be required on several occasions by workshops, fleet operators, and commercial vehicle businesses. A professional relationship could assist you in creating repetitive business opportunities.

Paying for it

You do not have to fund it all up front

Most Indian banks and NBFCs finance workshop equipment against the invoice. If the monthly margin in the calculator comfortably exceeds an EMI, financing lets the machine pay for itself while you own it.

We do not lend, and we will not pretend the maths always works — but we will happily put the numbers in the format your bank asks for, including a quotation and a written running-cost model.

Franchise option

Start earning immediately

Revenue begins from the first job, not after the machine is paid off.

Quotation your bank accepts

Proper invoice, specification and package breakdown for the loan file.

You own the machine

No dependency on a third-party cleaner, and no per-filter fee to anyone else.

About these numbers

ROI questions, answered

The arithmetic is exact — it simply applies your inputs. The accuracy depends entirely on those inputs, and the one people usually guess wrong is the running cost per filter. Give us your expected volume and we will work out your real cost per job, then you can put a figure you trust into the calculator.

Our planning estimate is 6–10 months at typical workshop volumes. That assumes a steady flow of jobs rather than an immediate full order book. A workshop already servicing diesel vehicles usually gets there faster than a new entrant building a customer base from scratch.

Because it varies with filter size, contamination level and how you price labour, and because a number we invent for you is worth nothing. The value shown is a placeholder to make the page usable, not a quotation. Replace it with your own figure or ask us for ours.

No. Machine prices are excluding GST, and the calculation ignores freight to your city, electrical and water connections at your site, and general workshop overheads. Those are real costs and should be added when you build a final business case.

It depends on how many DPF-equipped vehicles you run and how often they need cleaning. Enter both in the fleet mode above. As a rough guide, a fleet paying market rates for regular cleaning usually crosses the line well before a fleet with a handful of vehicles cleaned once a year.

Yes, and many owners do. Machine capacity is rarely the constraint at the volumes most single workshops run, so cleaning for neighbouring garages is the usual way spare capacity gets used — and it shortens payback considerably.
